    Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Chooses Bulgaria to Invest in Global Innovations and Intelligent Technology Development

    The Coca-Cola System continues with its sustainable investments in Bulgaria with the opening of the Coca-Cola HBC Tech Innovation Lab

    The first Tech Innovation Lab of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company was officially opened on May 30, 2018 by the Senior Vice President and CIO of The Coca-Cola Company Barry Simpson, the Business Solutions & Systems Director of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Alain Brouhard, together with the Digital Innovation Manager of Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Bulgaria Kiril Traykov.

    The Tech Innovation Lab will provide a common platform for showcasing existing solutions to the business and it will be a shared workplace for opportunities’ exploration with partners such as Microsoft, SAP, Atos, Google, OTE and a bridge between Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, universities for young talented minds and start-ups.

    "Today we take another step further, noting the progress made in our efforts to digitize the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company together with the Coca-Cola Company, its The Bridge program and our strategic partners. This event marks the culmination of an idea launched two years ago. The idea of ​​creating a Technology Innovation Lab serves as a catalyst for our growth and aim to provide even wider portfolio that increases the number of daily intakes for 24-hour, 7 days a week," said Alain Brouhard.

    During the opening, the Executive Director of The Bulgarian Investment Agency Stamen Yanev officially gave Investment Certificate Class A for the additional project “Pliska”, aiming to expand the Coca-Cola HBC IT activities, transferring and centralizing services that will be provided from Bulgaria to all Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Group companies.

    The investment on this project amounts to BGN 1,374 million and is related to renting the building space, equipping it for the company's purposes, acquiring know-how and purchasing technology, as well as hardware, hiring and training personnel, which will represent an important part of the systemic digital transformation of Coca-Cola worldwide.

    „The specific project and the special company that you are – this is the visualized definition of what we would like to see in the Bulgarian economy. This is: investment plus innovations equals leadership. The Cyrillic type of the trade mark of Coca-Cola was created in Bulgaria, so I hope this center will be something like the starting point for many intelligent technologies from Bulgaria, stamped “Bulgaria”, said Stamen Yanev.

  • InnoCenter Bulgaria Participates in Kick-off Workshop under EU Smart Factories Project

    The newly established open network InnoCenter Bulgaria (InnoCenter BG) participated in the kick-off workshop at the Sofia Tech Park in Sofia on Feb. 20-21, 2018 under the project “Smart Factories in new EU Countries” – Training & Mentoring Programme. The European Commission, PwC and Oxentia launched the event to promote an understanding of the selected 34 DIH proposers’ expectations and needs, and ensure their interest and commitment to the programme.


    The project “Smart Factories in new EU Member States” aims at identifying organisations capable of taking on the role of a “Digital Innovation Hub” (DIH) in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The project was launched in May 2017 and it is managed by the EC – DG Connect for the European Parliament, in partnership with PwC and Oxentia.


    The training and mentoring activities will take place between February and November 2018. The ultimate goal of this support programme is to facilitate the development and implementation of an appropriate business plan of a DIH.

    On January 31, 2018 six companies joined efforts to establish the InnoCenter BG by concluding an agreement: ARC Consulting EOOD, Ruslan Stefanov, Manager, Ballistic Cell OOD, Yulian Petkov, Manager, Innovation Center Bulgaria EOOD, Stoyan Boev, CEO, Interconsult Bulgaria OOD, Stoyan Boev, Managing Director, Nextdoor OOD, Nikolai Kamov, Managing Partner, and ForTeam Consult OOD, Ivaylo Iliev, Managing Partner.

    InnoCenter BG will operate as network of various organisations and companies. Representative is Stoyan Boev, Innovation Center Bulgaria EOOD and Coordinator is Nikolai Kamov, Nextdoor OOD.
